Corner Shop
Grown ups will love our Corner Shop where you can buy Marsh Farm sausages, bacon, pork and free range eggs. There is also a large range of preserves and chutneys including Tiptree Jams, and, if you have a sweet tooth, some delicious locally made cakes and biscuits which you can take home to enjoy later or add to your picnic.
Animal Welfare
The Marsh Farm meat on sale comes from animals that have been reared under strict welfare conditions and are on view to the visiting public. All the animals are slaughtered locally at Fowlers Brothers, a small family run abattoir in Burnham, nine miles away.
Low Food Miles
A very important welfare consideration is the amount of miles our animals travel. After travelling only nine miles to Burnham the meat is then prepared at the Wrekin Farm Shop at Althorne, which is on the return trip to South Woodham Ferrers. So our finished meat product has travelled a total of 18 miles.
